Showtime's thriller is once again a frontrunner for the next edition of the Golden Globes, with four nods, announced the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Thursday, December 13.
Homeland is well positioned to earn back-to-back titles as the best drama series on television. Its rivals in that category are Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, The Newsroom and Downton Abbey.
In the best performance in a drama categories, Claire Danes will attempt a repeat, and Damian Lewis could win an award provided he fends off Steve Buscemi, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Daniels and Jon Hamm.
Modern Family leads the pack in the comedy category with three nominations, and will face Episodes, The Big Bang Theory, and newcomers Girls and Smash.
HBO is the network with the most nominations (17), thanks to quality TV movies such as Game Change, The Girl and Hemingway & Gellhorn.
Winners will be announced January 13 in Beverly Hills.
