With Christmas just around the corner, it’s hard to keep up with the present buying and the tree decorating, let alone to remember to book in your next waxing appointment. But don’t worry; we’ve created a comprehensive guide for scheduling in your essential beauty appointments, we’ve also asked the experts for tips to make sure your treatments last longer – just in case you don’t have time to schedule in your next appointment because let’s face it, who has?

Haircuts
Book your appointment:
every six to eight weeks
Make it last longer:“The best way to make your cut last is to choose a style that doesn’t need much looking after, like long layers,” explains Anna Bloomer, Senior Stylist at Errol Douglas Salon. Also add a heat protecting product to your grooming arsenal. “It will help protect your hair from damage and will help you avoid split-ends.”

Hair colouring
Book your appointment:
every six to eight weeks
Make it last longer:“Shampooing your hair will make your colour fade quicker by lifting up the hair’s cuticle layer,” explains Anna, “so try not to wash your hair more than three times a week. Use a dry shampoo in-between washed to keep it looking fresh.” However, a good conditioning treatment will help keep your locks glossy. “Treat your hair to a twice-weekly deep condition mask,” adds Anna, “it will help seal in your hair’s colour.

Manicure
Book your appointment:
every two weeks
Make it last longer:“When you get home from the salon apply another top coat, and be sure to seal the edges as these can sometimes be overlooked,” explains Max Factor’s nail artist Zarra Celik, “a good application of top coat is a must. Also, try to moisturise hands with almond oil, as regular hand cream doesn’t tend to moisturise your cuticle skin, and this should also help prevent your polish from peeling.”

Leg waxing
Book your appointment:
every three to six weeks
Make it last longer:“Exfoliate and moisturise daily with a hair inhibit lotion,” explains beautician Jessica Miller. And as much as you might want to shave between waxes, “Shaving can actually stimulate hair growth – so step away from the razor,” Jessica adds. © Cover Media
