If you’re planning to lock lips under the mistletoe this Christmas, or simply want to look pucker perfect for the festive season, it’s time to make sure your lips are luscious.
And with bold lip colours set to be a sure-fire beauty hit for 2013, it’s well worth seeing the New Year in with a perfect pout.
Brush up
A soft toothbrush and a little bit of lip balm are perfect tools for a good lip scrubbing. Gently brushing the surface of your lips encourages blood circulation in this area of your mouth, and in turn gives your lips a fuller look. You could also try Clinique Exfoliating Lip Scrub to smooth out lips and get rid of dead skin.
Moisture soak
Before going to bed, apply a rich moisturising cream to your lips. Do so regularly every night and you will wake up every morning with softer lips.
Look for a lip balm or lip treatment with SPF. The new Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipsticks are just what the doctor ordered. They're packed with SPF 12 and colour-saturated pigments for lips that are kissable and healthy.
Eat well
The lack of iron, Vitamin B and fatty acids in your body can play a role in lip cracking and scaling. Vitamin A is also necessary for skin repair and is also recommended to defend yourself against chapped lips. Be sure to take a multivitamin/mineral supplement every day to protect against internal deficiencies that may be causing your chapped lips. You can also incorporate Vitamin B, Vitamin A, iron and fatty acid-rich food into your diet. - COVER MEDIA
