PARIS - Kristen Stewart has been revealed as the face of a new yet-to-be-named scent from Balenciaga, scheduled for release this fall.
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily on January 13, the fashion house's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière explained how the actress is the ideal muse for the fragrance.
"Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence," he explained, adding she shares the "radical spirit of Balenciaga."
Despite having appeared in movies ranging from Panic Room to Welcome to the Rileys, Stewart is best known for portraying Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise.
The Balenciaga job sees her joining co-stars Dakota Fanning and Ashley Greene in landing modeling gigs, with the latter being DKNY's latest face and Fanning fronting the campaign for Marc Jacobs' Oh, Lola! scent.
Stewart expressed her excitement over the modeling venture, saying she felt a connection with Balenciaga even before she truly took an interest in style.
"Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognised and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now," she explained.
French actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg will remain the face of Balenciaga Paris, the label's debut fragrance, which was launched in 2010.
