Preservation and Adaptation: Responding to History
Didier Repellin, Chief Architect and Inspector General of Historic Monuments in France, will speak on the importance of understanding the specific nature of each historic building in customising a practical approach in terms of conservation, restoration or renovation. He will share personal experience from some of his heritage projects, which include the restoration of sculptures and frescoes at Villa Medici in Rome and a mix of conservation and creation for the Ancient Theatre of Orange in southern France. Repellin will also talk about the challenges he faced in preserving CHIJMES in Singapore while also converting it into a viable commercial space. This lecture will be moderated by architect Jean-Francois Milou of studio Milou Singapore.

The self dubbed “dude in the basement looking for melodies” has played to sold out crowds around the world from Australia to the Bahamas. His inimitable brand of soul, robo-disco and pop is infectious and will persuade even the most rigid among you to get on the dance floor. The Art of Cleto Munari
Mizuma Gallery is pleased to present The Art of Cleto Munari. For the first time in Singapore, this show by artist-designer Cleto Munari in collaboration with leaders of the Transavantgarde movement: Mimmo Paladino, Sandro Chia; and world known architects Alessandro Mendini and Marcello Morandini, highlights the development of “disegno italiano”. This exhibition features unique handmade art furniture and objects, exploring liberal theories between modernism and postmodernism.
