It’s one thing picking out a gorgeous new lip colour. But it’s quite another making sure that dazzling new hue actually stays put on your lips.
With so many lip products claiming they can deliver a power pout that will last all day, you’d be forgiven for thinking that lipstick longevity is a problem from the past.
But actually, even when using tip top beauty goodies, it can be hard to stretch the staying power out of your favourite lippy.
We caught up with runway makeup artist Sam Landesberg to discover how she creates a stay-put pout.
Here are Sam’s tips:
1. Start by exfoliating the lips using a soft brush or clean mascara wand. Just dab the wand in a little oil, such as Bio Oil, and literally brush the lips and use the wand as if it were a mitten for exfoliating the face.
2. Now, apply a small amount of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. It will act as if it were the moisturiser stage of a facial.
3. Take M.A.C Redd lip liner and fill the lips in completely covering the whole area and creating the shape you want with the line.
4. Then take M.A.C Ruby Woo and apply to the lips with a brush but dab it on then blot then apply the lipstick again direct to the lips to create the boldness.
5. Lastly take the lip line again and create the precision you want to finish off the look. © Cover Media
