PARIS - French fashion house Louis Vuitton will live stream its Fall 2012 men's ready-to-wear show on January 19 at 9.30pm, Singapore time, on its website at www.louisvuitton.eu/Men/Ready-to-Wear/show.
Despite streaming its women's shows online for many seasons, this will be the first time male Louis Vuitton fans will enjoy the privilege, signaling the increasing importance of menswear fashion week.
While labels including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci streamed their Milan menswear shows online during the city's recent fashion week, Louis Vuitton will be one of the labels welcoming the public into the world of fashion week for the Paris edition when the label's show takes place at 14:30 CET Thursday.
Louis Vuitton has also launched a number of other “digital experiences” for fashion fans, including its Fashion Show Perspectives series of interviews with fashion insiders including Uma Thurman, Nicole Richie, Olivia Wilde, Katie Grand, Alexa Chung, Natalia Vodianova and designer Marc Jacobs, via fashionshow.louisvuitton.com/After_Show_Interviews.
As well as the interviews, Louis Vuitton has also produced a dedicated “mini-website” that you can access on your iPhone or iPad via fashionshow.louisvuitton.com, and includes an interview with Marc Jacobs talking about his creative process as well as backstage coverage.
You might not be able to make it to the shows, but with technology like this you don’t really have to.
Paris Men's Fashion Week runs January 18 through January 22. For more details go to www.modeaparis.com/fr.
