A quick scan of the skincare counters is all it takes to confirm that market for anti-ageing ‘miracle’ creams has never been stronger.
But how about age-fighting makeup? There are actually lots of makeup goodies on the market, specifically designed to create a luminous, youthful look.
Here are some tips for defying those years.
Base
Start of by using a primer, which effectively blurs the appearance of uneven skin and fine lines, so your face seems smoother. If your skin seems dull, try a foundation with light-reflecting particles. They hide flaws and make skin look radiant. To add a flush of colour, choose a cream blush. Powder blushes, which sit on the skin's surface, can exaggerate the look of fine lines, but cream formulas sink into skin to give a dewy finish. Try Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in Pink.
Eyes
For a youthfully wide-eyed look, start by curling your lashes with a set of eyelash curlers, Tweezerman Pro Curl is a good option.
Once your lashes are beautifully curled, apply a couple of coats of deep brown mascara, try Sublime De Chanel Mascara in Brown. Black mascara and lots of heavy liner can be quite ageing.
When it comes to eyeshadow, a neutral-coloured shimmery colour will give an illusion of tautness. Use a powder rather than cream and pick a hue that’s one shade lighter than your skin. Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin is a good option.
Lips
Make sure you choose a super-hydrating lipstick which won’t dry out your lips. L'Oréal Paris’ Colour Riche range is enriched with anti-ageing serum to keep that pout looking plump. © Cover Media
