If you love wearing dresses, then you will adore Singapore’s new online fashion label Dresstronomy. It really does over just about every kind of dress you could ever need to have in your wardrobe.
Singapore-based fashion designers and avowed clothes-lovers Tylda Tan and Patricia Teo have created a new label that is perfect for shoppers looking for a dress for any occasion.
Available only via its own website, Dresstronomy offers a wide variety of dress shapes, fabric types and colours, so you’re sure to find something to suit you.
Dresstronomy has just released its Spring Summer 2012 collection as a series of themes ‒ Pin Up Girl, The Column, Simply Pleated, The Garden Party, Sugar And Spice, Billowy and Dressed Up Shirt.
The ranges match their names fairly well. Pin Up Girl is a long dress with a wide neckline, full sleeves and a fitted skirt with a sexy slit; it’s got a 1940s evening glamour feel about it and is available in green, navy and purple jewel toned fabric.
The Column comes in short or long versions and is a classic “tube” shape with additional pleating to add a touch of elegance; the dress is available in yellow, coral and black. Simply Pleated is a classically shaped dress with a flattering v-neck and the fullness of a pleated skirt ‒ perfect for when you’re having a “fat day” but have to dress up for work.
Another one that’s great for work is the Dressed Up Shirt, it is a feminine version of the ubiquitous shirt-dress, this time with chiffon-like transparency, full sleeves and covered buttons.
Sugar And Spice is also a perfect work dress, especially if you’re heading out afterwards. The relatively straight cut is softened with a series of small ruffles, and the short length means you just need to add a pair of statement heels to sex-up your look.
For a great summer dress check out The Garden Party or Billowy; the first is a maxi dress and comes in three floral prints to choose from and is unashamedly girlie with pleats and ruffles. Billowy is just as its name describes, its on-trend mid-length skirt and halter neck bodice add fashion-forward feel to a classic pleated dress.
Dresstronomy also carries a limited range of bags and accessories that have been chosen to set off the brand’s dresses, there are cute box clutches as well as slouchy hobo style bags. The accessories range from metal and bead necklaces to quirky rings and bracelets; all at fairly reasonable prices.
Talking about price, the Dresstronomy dresses are quite reasonably priced as well. The Pin Up Girl dress costs $149, Simply Pleated costs $79, while The Garden Party costs $109; the bags range from $50 for a cute heart box clutch to $139 for a mini-doctor’s clutch with strap.
So, if you’re looking for a new work wardrobe to start off 2012, and you love a good dress, it’s well worth checking out Dresstronomy.
