If you’re looking for a fashion-forward way to rock your lipstick this spring, we’ve got one word for you – matte.
Super-bright velvety shades were everywhere throughout the Spring/Summer 13 shows with Pat McGrath at Prada, Lucia Pieroni at Giles and Wendy Rowe at Burberry Prorsum all using shine and gloss-free formulations to add drama.
“I love matte lips,” says top make-up artist Sue Moxley. “I often use the Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick in matte red, it looks amazing
“Or I will use a Famous lipstick and simply blot and dust a tiny bit of loose translucent powder on top which gives a similar effect.
“Matte lipsticks can look and feel quite drying so keeps lips in tip-top condition by using a good lip balm,” adds Sue.
