MaxMara regional manager Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti is the third generation of her family to work for luxury fashion brand MaxMara.
She’s the niece of the firm’s CEO Luigi Maramotti and is the regional manager in North America.
Despite her upbringing, Maria understands not everyone is in a position to lavish cash on upmarket brands.
“Avoid the mass market,” she told Be magazine, when asked about her top tip for women under 25. “You can easily find products which possess their own identity, even if they are really cheap.
"Obviously, I love the idea of affordable fashion, I shop a lot at Uniqlo, GAP or more creative brands such as COS or A.P.C.. And I make a dash for every collaboration H&M does with a big designer.”
Maria went on to discuss the best fashion tips she’s been given. She thinks it’s vital to be comfortable in your outfit and to ensure you are dressed suitably for the day ahead.
That means thinking about whether you have a lot of meetings, or will need to go out straight after work.
The industry professional added her personal style icons are of another generation, notably Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and model Inès de la Fressange.
“Queen Elizabeth II. Honestly! And Ines de la Fressange, because she embodies the Parisian woman,” she replied, when asked whose style she admires.
“I like young Parisian girls, they are fresh and creative, they are not afraid to be daring. If you go to New York during Fashion Week, it's a jungle of bloggers.
"So often girls are dressed like nonsense just because they want to be photographed. In Paris, it's the opposite, they don’t show off. They are pretty, end of story.”
