WHAT: Major fashion houses appeared to take their style down a notch or two for Spring Summer 2013 and ventured into casual territory by sending models wearing graphic t-shirts down the catwalk. Paired with skater pants, a frilly skirt or barely there shorts, their dominance on the runways proved that graphic t-shirts are here to stay.

Clockwise from top left: Markus Lupfer Women's white cotton sequined T-shirt, $290, Alexander McQueen Women's white cotton T-shirt, $530, Comme des Garçons Women's navy-grey cotton t-shirt with hawaiian print, $330, Christopher Kane Women's black-white cotton t-shirt with purple Frankenstein, S$390
WEAR IT WITH:One of the easiest trends to pull off this season, one can always opt for the obvious combination of a graphic T-shirt and jeans. But graphic T-shirts can be unexpectedly – and ironically – chic when you go girlie. Tuck the Christopher Kane Frankenstein T-shirt (pictured above) into a skirt with feminine accents – think pleats or lace – and finish off with some fancy heels.
