51 years after the death of the American singer and actress, she's still as relevant as ever.

Bloggers base their beauty tutorials on Marilyn Monroe's skincare and beauty secrets; designers at top labels and brands get their inspiration from her figure and her iconic hairstyle for their new campaigns and collections; while stars of today also frequently point to her influence.

The world's most glamorous celebrity is still as fascinating as ever.

Chosen to represent a brand of hair products
The breathtaking beauty of the luscious blonde bombshell is now being put to use in a new ad campaign for the hair products of American brand Sexy Hair, which created a huge buzz, as well as some controversy, for choosing the late actress from The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot for its new ad and print campaign.

The visuals show a sexy and glamorous Marilyn Monroe with her famous blonde hairstyle and red lips with the headline "Styles change. Sexy is forever". The campaign is due to be launched in October.

An icon throughout time
In 2013, Marilyn Monroe's style is more present than ever, especially with fashion trends revisiting 1950s and 60s styles. From catwalks to red carpets, such as during the Cannes Film Festival, celebrities continue to sport copycat hairdos based on the sex symbol's famous locks.

Reese Witherspoon and Michelle Williams, the star of the 2011 film My Week With Marilyn are just two recent examples.

Her beauty also continues to fascinate outside the worlds of beauty and fashion. A study conducted in early July by American Airlines revealed the actress to be the dream airline hostess according to the British, when taking into account the celebrities from Hollywood's golden age.

The image of Marilyn Monroe also also featured in a 2011 advertisement for Dior's J'Adore fragrance starring Charlize Theron and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. Monroe's image was CGI-ed into the footage, along with those of Grace Kelly and Marlene Dietrich. - AFP RELAX NEWS
