The former editor-in-chief of Vogue France is the subject of a new documentary that follows the legendary editor as she launches her own magazine. The first trailer is now available.
Something of a French Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld presided as editor-in-chief at Vogue magazine in her home country for ten years. The documentary Mademoiselle C arriving in theaters worldwide from September, will provide an intimate look into the career and personality of this icon of the international fashion scene.
Directed by Fabien Constant, the film focuses on Roitfeld's post-Vogue career. After stepping down from the head of the magazine in 2012, the charismatic but somewhat elusive businesswoman took on the bold challenge of launching her own fashion magazine. The new title CR Fashion Book aims to be more chic, more innovative and more glamorous than its time-honored competitors.
Funding for Mademoiselle C came in part from the producers of The September Issue, the 2009 documentary focusing on the famous editor of American Vogue, Anna Wintour.
At age 58, Carine Roitfeld is an emblematic figure of the French fashion scene. Close to Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford and Donatella Versace, to name a few, the vivacious dame - who became a grandmother for the first time during the shooting of the documentary - succeeded in pushing through groundbreaking editorial and photo decisions as the editor-in-chief of French Vogue, stirring up a number of heated debates in the process.
In addition to introducing audiences to the fierce and visionary editor, Mademoiselle C also includes commentary from Roitfeld on her roles as mother and wife, an area in which she has been relatively private until now. - AFP RELAXNEWS
