Talk about your face being a canvas for the art of beauty. Japanese neo-pop artist and frequent fashion collaborator Takashi Murakami will be making the festive season a whole lot more animated, shall we say, with a full colour collection centred around one of Murakami's anime projects.
Dubbed "Six Heart Princess" after the anime of the same name, fans can expect a range of products from across the board—everything from makeup pouch essentials like eyeliner and lipsticks to expert-level multi-colour palettes.
What we're most looking forward to, though, are the eclectic odds and ends that will make for the best Christmas gifts—novelties like US$75 bejeweled falsies, for instance, and Shu Uemura's famous eyelash curlers, which will go for just US$24 and come bedecked in a special Murakami-designed hearts-and-flowers motif.

If you're interested in the deeper artistic merit of the collaboration, Murakami told Women's Wear Daily that the anime reference for the upcoming collection is his way of "explo[ring] the desire of transformation by looking back to the history of princess animation." Deep.
Now for the bad news. The Takashi Murakami X Shu Uemura collection will be sold exclusively on the cosmetic brand's US site starting November—which means it's time to start begging your US friends for shipping favours!
