It all seems like harmless fun - that extra glass of wine, the Beyoncé-inspired booty shaking on the dance floor, and the ridiculously late bedtime. But waking up the next day with a hangover isn't so amusing.

Not only have you got to contend with a heavy head and hazy memories, your skin suffers the consequences too. After taking a couple of painkillers for that nasty headache, there are plenty of ways to revive problem hangover skin though...

Late night drinking takes its toll on the delicate skin under your eyes, causing dark circles and puffiness. Vitamin C plays a vital role in maintaining skin health so first off drink plenty of orange juice and also look out for products packed with the ingredient on your lunch break.

There are plenty of quick and clever cover-ups for your tired peepers too - just remember to choose illuminating concealers with light-reflecting particles that help achieve a more bright-eyed look. Also keep an eye out for products rich in hyaluronic acid and vitamin E which will soothe and plump delicate skin.

Another common problem after drinking alcohol is suffering a pale, dull and dry complexion. Use a gentle facial scrub in the morning and a cream or lotion cleanser rather than a foaming wash - which are much more effective for thirsty skin.

Remember to keep hydrated throughout the day with a bottle of water by your side - it will help to counteract the dehydration that comes with drinking booze. For a quick make-up fix the morning after use a sweeping of bronzer and apply highlighter on the apple of your cheeks to achieve a subtle glow.

Target dull skin by avoiding the greasy foods often associated with hangover cures and replace them with healthier, nutrient-rich foods.

Eggs are great for breakfast as they are easily digested and packed with protein. Grab a piece of fresh fruit as it helps to naturally boost the body's energy back thanks to fructose—the sugar in it. Try a banana for potassium.

Aside from water drink green tea which is rich in antioxidants and coconut water which is also full of potassium.

As well as from suffering a dry complexion after drinking alcohol, your pout can also feel the consequences. The only thing to do on this occasion is to bring out your balms!

Petroleum jelly is a relied-upon chapped-lips remedy - pick up the affordable product from your local pharmacy or supermarket. Continuing to drink water and staying hydrated will help keep the problem from getting worse.

Leading an unhealthy lifestyle wreaks havoc with your skin, and a booze bender can unfortunately leave you with a bit of a breakout.
