Want to recreate a set of runway-worthy lashes? Then make sure you’re using the right mascara. “My big tip for mascara shopping is this: have a look at the style of wand,” advises top make-up artist Georgie Harris.
“A big bristle wand will give you lots of volume but has the potential to clump, whereas a rubber wand will give you length and definition so bear this in mind when selecting the mascara you want.”
“Think first what look you would like to achieve,” adds Georgie, who has glamorised a whole host of models.
Here are her top mascara picks for Fall 2013:
Yves Saint Laurent False Lash Effect
“I love this mascara for volume and lashes that wow. The only downside is the tube doesn’t last very long, which makes it hard to justify the price tag,” Georgie says.
Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes
“This mascara is perfect for those whose lashes don’t have much of a curl to them. It really curls the ends, making them longer and lifted so eyes appear wide open and bright,” Georgie explains.
L'Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara
“An oldie but a goodie! This mascara is perfect for when I want to add length and definition without lots of volume, and not a clump in sight,” enthuses Georgie.
Clinique High Impact Mascara
“My favourite all-rounder mascara. It volumises, lengthens and is perfume free and 100% hypo-allergenic - perfect for those who have sensitive eyes,” Georgie reveals.
Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara
“This is my absolute favourite. Despite having a drug-store price tag, this is my go to mascara for a night out OR for a more natural look. The wand can be changed from ‘full’ for maximum volume to ‘fine’ for a defined, natural look,” Georgie raves.
