Designer nails for Autumn Winter 2013

We marvel at their beautiful and intricate creations on the catwalk, but sadly for many of us owning a haute couture gown or a piece of designer clothing will remain an expensive dream.

But with the nail art industry positively exploding over the last few years, fashion houses are acknowledging the growing market and have injected their creative vision into purse-friendly collaborations with affordable beauty brands.
So now, thanks to forward-thinking fashion creatives, you can get your hands on a piece of high fashion without the four-figure price tag.

Here are our favourite nail art collections for Autumn Winter 2013:

Marchesa for Revlon
Known for their ultra feminine and elaborate fairytale dresses, the high-end women’s label’s nail creations are sheer opulence. Taking inspiration from their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, creative directors Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have put together a selection of six art deco nail wraps.

The rich red shade and ornate swirls of gold featured on Royal Burgundy, glittering silver and intricate teal patterns of the Silk Rosette design and dramatic black shade embellished with crystals and gilded baroque motifs of the Crown Jewels set make them perfect for upcoming party season.

House of Holland for Elegant Touch
Henry Holland has channeled his signature cartoonish, colourful style into nine sets of fake nails. Geek Chic and Face Ache are typically zany and bright House of Holland creations and feature quirky designs including wacky faces and big black glasses.

Polka-Dot It and Get Nailed take on the monochrome trend with bold black and white patterns, while Zig Zag Stardust and Tweed represent the label’s trademark neon colours. For those after a more subtle effect, Classy Nude is Henry’s version of a classic French manicure, while Heartbreaker combines dark crimson tips with a sophisticated nude hue.

Sophia Webster for Nail Rock
Fans of Sophia Webster’s shoe designs include Rihanna, Solange Knowles and Chloe Grace Moretz - so it doesn’t come as a surprise that her nail art creations for Nail Rock are fairly "out there". The British designer has made the designs models wore on their talons for the label’s Autumn Winter 2013 London Fashion Week presentations available, including a pretty white and black polka dot pattern and a holographic woolen knit motif on nail wraps. For those who want to take it one step further, there are 3D pastel butterflies, flowers and nail caviar embellishments.
