Tissot has always been ahead of its time. While most may be familiar with the Swiss watchmaker’s stylish designs,Tissot is also a trailblazer in timepiece innovation.
The brand’s 160 year history reads like a catalogue of firsts. From the first anti-magnetic wristwatch ever assembled in 1930 – the Antimagnetic; to the T-touch in 1999 – the first tactile watch before touchscreen mobile phones were popular – Tissot’s innovations have been ahead of many other brands.
It’s not just technology that Tissot has pushed the boundaries of; the watchmaker has also experimented with some interesting materials. Swiss Alps granite was made into the 1985 Rockwatch and three years later, the Woodwatch was crafted out of Mediterranean briarwood.
