What do fashionistas and beauty junkies have to look forward to in the new year? Many high-profile collaborations – think Adidas and Kanye West, Target and Peter Pilotto, Mac and Proenza Schouler, and the list goes on

We take a look ahead to 2014's most eagerly anticipated fashion and beauty collaborations.

Earlier in December 2013, Adidas confirmed that it would be working with rapper Kanye West on exciting new projects, trumping the hip-hop artist's previous deal with Nike with a new agreement reportedly around the $10 million mark. "For 2014, we welcome to the adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West," said the brand in a statement picked up by High Snobiety.

There are no firm details yet on the future collaboration between the sportswear label and the self-titled “Tupac of product”, although Karmaloop CEO Greg Selkoe did tweet that the online retailer would be stocking the line.

The picture is a little clearer on the high street, where Target has already revealed its first big-name fashion collaboration for next year, a Spring 2014 line with hip London label Peter Pilotto. Set to drop on February 9, 2014, Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos's colorful prints and forward-looking silhouettes will follow on from the cartoonish and highly covetable Phillip Lim for Target collection released this fall 2013.

In beauty, the MAC and Proenza Schouler collaboration is one of the most highly awaited projects, with creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez working on a range of Ombre Face Powders, Lipsticks, Pro Longwear Eye Liners, Lip Pencils, and Nail Lacquers.

2013's MAC collaboration with pop singer Rihanna was one of the beauty world's biggest hit, and rivals Rimmel London will be hoping to compete. Earlier this fall, Rimmel announced an upcoming capsule color collection designed with Rita Ora. "I am absolutely obsessed with make-up and being adventurous with colours, so when I was given the chance to make my own collection with Rimmel it was like a dream come true!" said the Kosovo-born UK-raised singing sensation.

Of course, there's one true queen of fashion collaborations, and she comes from Croydon, England. The super-successful Kate Moss for Topshop line will be reappearing in the spring after a three-year hiatus. "I have really missed being involved in the design process, and working with the team at Topshop," said Moss. "Now more than ever with London being at the forefront of fashion as it feels like I'm back home working with Topshop." Expect queues come April, 2014. - AFPRELAX NEWS
