New year, new uniform? Beauty giant Shu Uemura has announced a special cross-platform collaboration with a fellow Japanese creative spirit.
Uemulo Munenoli, an urbane Tokyo-based fashion label known for its minimalist collections, has conjured up trim, monochrome uniforms that leverage on Shu Uemura’s affinity for black and white.
For this special collection, designer Munenori Uemuro says he wanted minimal distractions – no flashy neon hues or jewelled embellishments, please – but maximum impact: “I designed the uniform so as that people could uncover new levels of beauty each time they took a closer look at the design.”
Indeed, we’re digging the quietly interesting details in this first visual released by Shu Uemura: Lipstick-red faux pocket square, slimming darting, smart military-inspired buttons and nifty side pockets for the stylists to stash their makeup tools.
We hear that a suite of separates in a number of hues will be made available for the beauty stylists to mix and match, as if creating their custom shadow palette.
Keep an eye out for the new Shu Uemura uniforms in February, and let us know on herworldplus.com’s Facebook page if you’re liking them as much as we do!
