Halo braids

Dianna Agron SAG Awards 2012
It was one of 2011’s hottest hair trends and judging by the red carpet this week, the boho-braid is going nowhere.

In fact, the pretty plait is shaping up to be this year’s big celebrity beauty trend, with stars including Kirsten Dunst, Glee star Dianna Agron (pictured left) and Kaley Cuoco rocking the Swiss-inspired look.

And best of all, this is a super-easy ‘do to recreate, not to mention a great style-saver for those in-between shampoo days.

Feeling inspired by the laidback style? Then here’s how to do it.

1. Remove any tangles with a paddle brush and use a volumising dry shampoo to roots to give texture and grip.

2. Create a centre parting and plait a low pigtail braid on either side of your head, securing each plait with a clear or camouflage hair band.

3. Next, lift one of your braids and lay it across the top of head into the halo position you want it in.

4. Once you’re happy with the position, use bobby pins to secure the plait in place. Don’t worry if it’s looking a bit messy, you can cover up unsightly bobby pins and loose hair with the next braid.

5. Lay your second plait in place and neatly tuck the loose end of it under the first, secure braid. Use bobby pins to keep it all in place.

6. Finally, pull out a few loose pieces in front to frame your face. © Cover Media
