For German supermodel Claudia Schiffer it’s important that her cashmere knit fashion label – for Singapore shoppers it’s available via Net-A-Porter – can be worn a lot.
“I think about styles that can transcend seasons and are investment pieces rather than the next It-trend," she told vogue.co.uk in a recent interview.
"The boyfriend sweater dress or cape dress are good examples of this, in neutral tones; they can be worn from season to season and updated with of the moment accessories.”
When it came to her latest line, Claudia thought about who would be wearing the items. She hopes to don the sweaters while travelling the world, so that is what she focused on.
“I looked to Jane Birkin pictures from the ‘60s as a starting point,” she explained. “I thought about what she would wear in different locations around the world – Paris, Ibiza and London – and how I would interpret that for myself.”
Claudia only launched her fashion house last year, but she is already making plans to expand it. The comfortable knits and easy-to-wear shift dresses are only the start of what she wants to offer.
“I would like to expand the collection into other categories and be able to offer women luxurious items at affordable prices,” she explained.
