We’re sure we’re not the only beauty reporters nursing a love-hate relationship with Benefit Cosmetics – the American beauty brand boasts such “punny” press copy, we’re often tempted to lift it wholesale.
To wit, Benefit describes their new lip and cheek stain as “the flirtiest flush” and a “dreamy and delectable colour”. Practically killing us with alliterative appeal!
All joking aside, Benefit’s purple spin on their super-popular Benetint is supposed to veil your visage with a sheer lavender sheen. Boasting the same smudge-proof, stay-true colour that’s made the original product such a cosmetics classic, you can apply Lollitint on your lips, lids and cheeks, if you wish.
If you’re new to the pleasures of multi-purpose stains, here’s how to use the Lollitint. Uncap, whip out the doe-foot applicator, swipe on desired area, blend with fingers, repeat. It’s that fool-proof!
Fun fact: Benefit’s perfectly innocent-sounding Benetint was birthed in the 1970s to meet the needs of a burlesque dancer, who wanted a product with the ability to colour certain intimate lady parts, shall we say, with a sexy pink flush.
Wary of wine-red hues? We’re pleased to report that purple shades are actually wonderfully wearable – the happy mix of both warm and cool undertones makes purple the perfect go-to colour for just about all complexions and hair types. Pantone picked well this year!
Benefit Lollitint, $51 for 12.5 ml, is available from March 2014 at all Benefit counters. For more information, visit www.benefitcosmetics.com and follow Benefit Cosmetics Singapore on Facebook and Instagram.
