Inspiration: Mix of feminine with masculine styles

The looks: H&M’s limited edition key season fashion collection has been christened as H&M Studio. For its first collection under the new moniker, the design team has gone with very wearable looks, fusing feminine wiles with menswear style.

The models channeled nonchalant elegance in slip dresses with lace inserts worn under blazers and biker moto jackets. The colour palette was kept to blacks, dark greens and rusty orange, with a pop of red. Interestingly enough, only two looks featured prints.

While the slinky silk crepe and silk satin skimmed the model’s silhouette, faux fur and velvet added the practical warmth for Autumn Winter 2014. We have to admit though, we much prefer the yang element of this yin-yang combination. What we can’t wear to get our hands on – and wear next season – is the menswear blazer oversized so it can be worn as a dress and drapey two piece suit.
The accessories: Knee high boots were the order of the day, whether paired with mini dresses to reveal still a great deal of leg or with pants tucked into them.
