Fashion designer L'Wren Scott, the girlfriend of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, has been found dead at her apartment in New York, the rocker's spokesman said Monday May 17, 2014.
The spokesman said Jagger was "completely shocked and devastated" by the death of 49-year-old Scott. US media reported that she was found hanged.
According to the Daily News, her assistant found her body in the morning. Earlier in February 2014, she cancelled the Autumn Winter 2014 show of her eponymous line that was meant to be shown during London fashion week.
Her famous customers include Nicole Kidman, Christina Hendricks and Amy Adams. In 2013, she collaborated with Banana Republic for a holiday collection.
Jagger, 70, is currently in Perth, Australia, where he is touring with the Stones, according to his official Twitter account.
Scott, an American former model, had been dating the Rolling Stones frontman since 2001 following his split from wife Jerry Hall.
"He is completely shocked and devastated by the news," his spokesman said.
