The pop-up store, "Rakuten Super Bag", celebrates Rakuten's launch in Singapore against the larger-than-life Rakuten shopping bag installation
To celebrate its online launch in Singapore, Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten is holding a three-day pop-up store, “Rakuten Super Bag”, at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. This shopping extravaganza puts together the best of its 150 Japanese and Singapore merchants’ products in food, fashion beauty and more to give you a taste of what Rakuten Singapore has to offer.
Online shoppers may be familiar with Rakuten – the Japan’s number one online shopping mall. Well, Rakuten Singapore – the brand’s Singapore-based website also features around 100,000 products across ten categories, including fashion, food, household products, toys and more.
Singapore shoppers are in luck as the Singapore website has a fashion section called Rakuten Direct – something the Japanese website doesn’t have. The pieces here are specially curated by fashion buyer Sae Katayama for Rakuten Singapore.
Famous Shiroi Koibito white chocolate cookies, gorgeous pumps and bags are some things you can expect at the Rakuten three-day pop-up store
At the event, you can also sample Kuriya Fish Market’s gorgeous array of fresh fruit, premium seafood, sake and delectable sweets and snacks brought to you all the way from Japan.
Not only will you be able to pick out home furnishing, electronic appliances and adorable toys like Line plushies, you also can browse through racks stocked with the best of Japanese fashion from Rakuten Direct.
Do keep an eye out for Singapore celebrities Keagan Kang, Paul Foster, Michelle Chia and Wong Lilin, who will be taking on the challenge of whipping up your favourite Japanese cuisine.
