Oh, Amanda. Miss Seyfried is such a woman’s woman, and we’re madly in love with her for it.

No longer “just” the coquettish cipher from her film debut in the camp classic Mean Girls, the 28-year-old has blossomed – and we use that metaphor quite literally, as you’ll discover later – into a thoughtful thespian with no qualms about dipping her manicured toes into controversial territory that would otherwise scare off less spunky starlets.

Exhibit A, for starters: Amanda’s plucky turn as the troubled adult performer Linda Lovelace in the recent eponymous biopic (Google at your own risk!).

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the pneumatic provocateur’s pillowy lips and deliciously creamy complexion have also made her a darling of the fashion and beauty world; spot Amanda in the glossies fronting ads for Clé de Peau Beauté (the luxe label is incidentally a personal favourite as well, but that’s a story for another day) and, most recently, as the “nose” of Givenchy’s latest flanker, Very Irrésistible Givenchy L’eau En Rose.

Here’s what we discovered about the intriguing ingenue, with compliments from the lovely folks at Givenchy Singapore:

1. She’s a self-confessed flower fan. High five, so are we. What did we say about Amanda having “blossomed” into a compelling individual in her own right?

The woman says she’s big on blooms, and that her most cherished scent memories revolve around her childhood garden: “I grew up with a beautiful garden in my backyard, my mother loves flowers and she wears floral scents. My grandmother [does] too, and every time I see her it brings back memories, it makes me I feel like I’m a child again.” All together now, aww.

2. Scents are sort of like guys in general. We’re being facetious here, but hear us out. Substitute “man” for “fragrance” in the following quip and you’ll get a pithy pull quote on love: “A fragrance appeals to me when there’s something kind of mysterious about it. You don’t know if you really love it until you’ve worn it, until you’ve spent some time with it.” We’ll toast to that.

3. Riccardo Tisci is to Amanda Seyfried as Hubert de Givenchy was to Audrey Hepburn. A very brief backgrounder on fashion history is in order here. Notebooks on the ready? Go!

Back in the late 1950s, the fantastically august Count Hubert James Marcel Taffin de Givenchy was responsible for much of screen siren Audrey Hepburn’s achingly chic wardrobe, including what must surely count as the most recognisable LBD in history, period.

Flash-forward to 2014 and the very self-assured Amanda fancies her relationship with current Givenchy guru Riccardo Tisci as being somewhat similar to that enjoyed by Hubert de Givenchy and My Fair Lady herself: “I’m crazy about Givenchy; I associate Givenchy with Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy.”

More high praise for the French fashion house and the inimitable Riccardo: “Today, I don’t think anybody’s quite able to do that except for Riccardo Tisci.”

“He’s an artist and also a really good guy, I have huge admiration for him. I’m not going to say that our relationship can be compared to the one between Hubert and Audrey, but I really feel lucky to be on this journey with him.”

Why, how very gracious of you, Amanda. Your minders must be mighty pleased with this reciprocal relationship: With any luck, that string of adulatory platitudes should translate to your entire red carpet couture for this year being fully accounted for by Givenchy!

4. Her favourite Givenchy piece just happens to be ours as well. We think Riccardo’s acerbic commentary on pop culture by way of Autumn 2013’s Bambi print is bang on the nose … and what do you know, so does Amanda! “I love the Bambi sweater, I’ve worn it a lot."

“There’s [also] a pair of Givenchy platforms that I love to wear because they’re comfortable but so very sexy!” Statement sweaters and hot high heels? Perfect point in this story to throw in a little Amanda-esque Mean Girls reference: This chick's style is like, super fetch.

5. Amanda’s affinity for roses has made her fabulously rich. Obligatory product mention: The new Very Irrésistible flanker is one to check out, being flush with feminine florals resting on a simmering bed of bright berry accords and voluptuous, full-bodied musk.

Adjectives like “luminous” and “delicate” dot the press copy like the buds of Spring flowers, and the juice is ensconced in a pink frosted flacon that is an objet d’art unto itself. Concocted by top nose Carlos Benaim as an ode to the rose, the ravishing scent is just evanescent enough to be spritzed on for day.

We’ll sign off by noting that the perfume’s preoccupation with the “queen of all flowers” dovetails happily with Amanda’s ambassadorial duties as the face of Clé de Peau Beauté; the Japanese prestige beauty brand’s emblem is – yes, you guessed it – the rose.

Pretty neat coincidence, yes? That, or Amanda is one rapacious rose-obsessed businesswoman. Either way, attagirl.
