Citizens of the beauty world, consider this the cosmetics equivalent of the Hunger Games. Well, not really, but you get the idea: Contestants will duke it out in a live demo to emerge as top dog of this year’s edition of the Shu Uemura Beauty Art Makeup Competition in August 2014.
Here’s how it works. Depending on your skill set, choose between the novice or professional categories and enter accordingly. You’ll have to conjure up a look centred on this year’s theme of “Brave Beauty” – lots of scope for interpretation here, so go big or go home – and submit a brief liner or two on your concept.
Shu Uemura will cull the entries to the top eight creations, with the aspiring artists competing live at a supercharged showcase with the Japanese prestige beauty brand’s International Artistic Director, Kakuyasu Uchiide, holding court as one of the judges.
Now for the fun bit. The bounty awaiting the champs include a trip to Shu Uemura’s industry seminar in Japan, cold hard cash, a suite of Shu stuff, certs and trophies, not to mention sheer bragging rights, of course.
To enter, simply fill up an entry form, available at all Shu Uemura cabins as well as from our fabulous sister mags Her World and NuYou’s June 2014 issues, and submit it together with proof of purchase of a minimum of $100 worth of Shu Uemura products. Multiple submissions are more than welcome, but only on original forms, please.
The entry deadline is June 30, 2014, so get those creative juices and pots of paint flowing. Good luck!
