To raise awareness of the importance of ocean conservation, La Mer is commemorating World Oceans Day - happening on Sunday - with a limited-edition 100ml jar of Creme de la Mer ($680) this month.
La Mer is known for its potent anti-ageing formula that is concocted with the antioxidant-rich sea kelp which the brand harvests sustainably by hand.
This is the ninth year the brand is supporting the cause and, to date, it has donated around $2 million to ocean conservation efforts.
This year, in partnership with National Geographic, La Mer honours the Africa-based conservation biologist Andrea Marshall.
She is the first person to complete a doctorate on manta rays. She founded the Marine Megafauna Foundation and is responsible for discovering a new species of manta rays.
