Every minute counts in the morning. I often find myself picking a simpler makeup option when I’m pressed for time. Which is why Maybelline’s new BB Wonder Smooth Compact Cream is really handy.

A BB in the form of a compact with skincare benefits, Maybelline might just have made our lives a lot easier. The brand says that this BB Wonder Smooth Compact Cream will refine your skin’s texture, hydrate it from within, and give you brighter skin! Before you baulk at the amount of claims, let me tell you why I might believe them.
FIRST IMPRESSION
The nifty product is in a very simple compact, with the cream and sponge separated by a single layer. Loaded with SPF25 and other ingredients, this makeup item supposedly gives your skin coverage with antioxidant benefits.
WHY I LOVE IT
For starters, this BB has vitamins C and E, vital antioxidants that are supposedly great for brightening your skin. The addition of chamomile and caffeine extracts work to perk up your skin and soothe any signs of redness too, according to the brand. Together with the rest of Maybelline’s BB range, this compact uses BB mineral pigments, making it great for sensitive skin types.
However, what I love the most about this product is its application. The creamy BB product uses a sponge applicator, so you just have to swipe or dab onto your skin. The creamy texture blended seamlessly and gave me substantial coverage in a single layer. And unlike most BB creams that provide a sheer finish, this BB compact finishes semi-matte!
One tip for applying this product though: Use a primer, or skimp on your sunscreen (this product does come with SPF25). I made the mistake of using too much sunblock and the BB didn’t adhere well onto my skin, flaking in the process. If you’re looking for a primer, here’s the top 5 on my list.
