The Total V Face Shaper: $230 for 75 minutes, Clarins Skin Spa, 05-05 Wheelock Place, tel: 6838-5060This treatment replaces the previous Lifting Face Shaper facial. The more potent professional version of the brand's new Shaping Facial Lift Total V Contouring is also used during the session.

My favourite part of the treatment was when the Shaping Facial Lift Wrap cream mask was layered on my skin with a Hydro Gel sheet Refreshing Lift Mask, while the therapist gently kneaded my face to get rid of water retention. Coupled with the application of an icy-cold compress at the end of the facial, my skin was left rosy and glowing. My face appeared considerably slimmer, while my jawline and cheekbones also looked more prominent. The effect lasted for about two days.

Lifestage Facial Treatment: $395++ for 90 minutes, Espa at Resorts World Sentosa, tel: 6577-8880, available from Sunday In conjunction with the launch of its new anti-ageing skincare line Lifestage, the British spa brand has launched a treatment to complement it. The range is targeted at sagging skin, lines, dullness, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores and dehydration.

After an exfoliating mask treatment, my skin was pampered with a face-treatment oil blended with rose extracts, as well as a lymphatic drainage massage coupled with long and firm strokes to contour the face. I was also given a shoulder and arm massage while a lifting and smoothening mask made from menthol, argan oil and seaweed extract was left to work on my face.

Afterwards, my skin was slathered with the Lifestage products which suited my combination skin type. I was left with a glowing and tighter face for the next two days. As always, the facilities at Espa, such as the heated outdoor pool set among lush greenery, helped me to recharge my mind as well.
