The Singapore-based actress, model and host was appointed the official host of the RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network early this year. She will be presenting on both the RTL CBS Entertainment HD and RTL CBS Extreme HD channels on StarHub and SingTel mioTV. She will also host the National Science Challenge game show, which will air on Channel 5 on Aug 5.

Carrington, who has an American father and a Korean mother, has acted in local productions such as the 2011 legal drama The Pupil 2.

What is the one product you would not step out of the house without?

It would be the Dr G Brightening Balm SPF 30 PA++. It suits my combination skin as it's not too thick. Its colour is compatible with my skin tone as well. Lastly, it moisturises and protects my skin from the sun.

What is the one grooming service you cannot do without?

It would be the hair services at X'pect Studio in Orchard International Building. I go there to touch up my hair colour and do conditioning treatments once a month, as my hair gets dry from all the styling for work.

I go to Ms Desaree Khoo, the hair salon's director, for a trim once every two or three months.

What, in your opinion, is the best beauty invention?

It would be the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Cleanser. I use it daily. I'll put it on a cotton pad and clean my face after a gym workout. I also use it to remove my make-up.

It works great when I'm feeling sweaty after a shoot. My friend introduced it to me many years ago. It's said to be even gentler than water, which suits my sensitive skin.

What is your favourite perfume?

It would be Jimmy Choo's Eau de Parfum. I wear it to events and dinners. I like it for its feminine and elegant scent.

What is the most ridiculous thing you have done in the name of beauty?

I wear gloves and socks to bed every night after moisturising my hands and feet - they help lock in the moisture. Currently, I'm using a blend of jojoba and almond oil to moisturise.

During other times, I'll use coconut oil too - I prefer oils as they don't have additives, which might be present in lotions. My skin feels smoother when I wake up in the morning. Occasionally, I even moisturise my hands, then wear the gloves under the rubber gloves which I put on while washing dishes.

Give us a beauty tip.

Sometimes, simple things work great too. I like to make a mask using ground oatmeal mixed with water, which helps calm my sensitive skin after it gets sunburnt during a holiday, for instance.

You can also add full cream milk for a moisturising effect. Instant oatmeal will suffice, but personally, I like using rolled oats. Leave the mask on your face or body for at least 15 minutes.
