Like it or not, there’s no running away from sneakers this season.

They are everywhere, on the runway, in magazines and on the feet of the person sitting next to you on the MRT. I can’t think of a good excuse not to jump on the sneaker bandwagon – they are comfortable and judging from the Chanel, DKNY and Marc by Marc Jacobs runway shows, the epitome of style.
This is one trend that sporty babes have no problem hopping on. If you are one of those girls who last wore sneakers for dreaded P.E. classes back in school and have since only donned pretty ballet flats when you do wear flat shoes – I sense your hesitation.
But have you seen the ultra-feminine sneakers on the market? These girlie variations might just change your mind in no time – I know I did.

GIRLIE
The new sneaker line by Repetto is as comfy as the brand’s famed ballet flats. I wouldn’t be surprised if the sneakers usurp the flats’ popularity, especially this pale pink pair that brings to mind the femininity of ballet slippers. Speaking of girlie, there’s nothing prettier than eyelet lace to offset the original army grunge of Bensimon tennis shoes. Keds Champion sneakers’ slim fit cut have always been a hit with celebrities like Audrey Hepburn and I bet the ditsy floral print from this season’s collaboration with Kate Spade will be a big hit with the girlie girl crowd.

SPORTY
For early adopters of the sneaker trend, now is the time to check out the latest from the big sports labels. The newest Nike Lunarglide offers super cushioning and stability, which your feet will appreciate after dashing from meeting to meeting, and I’m partial how the stark white contrasts with the pink sole to make a statement. Tennis shoes are a classic and the retro-style CRT300 from New Balance goes with anything from a flippy skirt to skinny ankle pants. BWGH (Brooklyn We Go Hard) is the latest collaborator to team up with Puma and sporty girls will be able to rock the camo-print sneakers as well if not better than the dudes.
