The sportswear-inspired trend is one of the easiest to follow this season. I make it even easier for you to get on board the sporty bandwagon by picking out four athletic pieces and show you how they work for both the gym and the street – talk about multitasking!

Everyone multitasks without a bat of an eye so why shouldn’t your clothing do double duty too?

With the sportswear trend still popular on and off the runways, it makes complete sense to don your performance gym wear out on the streets. I can’t be the only one who was excited about the prospect of incorporating my sports bras and windbreakers into my everyday outfits, right? The various looks from the fashion houses – Miu Miu’s colourful parkas, the mesh and drawstring details seen at Fendi and even Jeremy Scott’s pairing of a sportsbra and tracksuit jacket – all are great examples but I’m not going to spend that much on a piece that I can’t actually sweat in.

While I’m willing to shell out a little more to look and feel great during my workouts, I’m all about getting bang for buck. It looks like the buyers at Net-a-porter.com have the same idea. Net-a-sporter – I know, what a clever name – was launched in July 2014 on the online store. The new activewear category has a range of 37 brands with performance pieces for tennis, golf, swim, yoga and even ski. Activewear brands Laain and Live the Process, Weargrace’s yoga wear and dance-inspired Ballet Beautiful are all exclusively stocked at Net-a-sporter.

These multitasking stylish pieces are meant to be worn to yoga class and then to brunch after. I’ve selected four sporty must-haves from the amazing selection that you wouldn’t think twice about wearing all day.

The first collection of this new activewear label, comprising of comfy leggings and T-shirts, has been launched exclusively at Net-a-porter.com. I’ll gladly pull this cosy Laain oversized tunic over my exercise outfit after a tough gym workout to keep my muscles warm.
