It’s a day of mourning for many (us included) when once upon a time bad boy Adam Levine weds his drop-dead gorgeous fiancee, Behati Prinsloo — beauty queen, and Victoria’s Secret Angel, of 25. No matter how we feel about it, we can’t resist cooing over the glamorously fun wedding, where groomsmen, including bestman Maroon 5 keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, wore black Hawaiian-print shirts and officiator Jonah Hill had the guests laughing all night long.
That’s not all we loved about the wedding and Hollywood’s latest power couple; here are four reasons why we can’t get enough of the new Mr and Mrs Levine.
1. Moves like Jagger? Not in front of Behati
No matter how confident and charming the 35 years-old singer can be, it seems that Adam turns into an adorable gooey-mess before the beautiful Behati. If you haven’t heard already, the gorgeous model managed to bring the rockstar down on not one, but two knees during his proposal last July. In fact, he was so rattled he actually mentioned this out-loud during his proposal to a bewildered Behati, saying “Both knees. Look I got on both knees”. Isn’t this more than enough proof that Behati has managed to tame the wild bachelor?
That’s not all; the heartbreaker sweetly confessed that he’d formally asked for her father’s permission to marry and that the experience was “extremely nerve-racking”. It was all worth it in the end as the proud father, a minister himself, gave the couple his blessings during the nuptials held at the beautiful Flora Farm (below).
2. Hello, devoted hubby
Unlike most single ladies around the world, reformed heartbreaker Adam was more thrilled than nervous to be leaving behind his bachelor days. Maroon 5 bandmate James Valentine, who strummed a medley of Beatle tunes at the ceremony, happily dished all about Adam’s eagerness to tie the knot, saying that he was “all amped up” for it. Adam Levine also cutely expressed his excitement on the big day through a Facebook post saying “Let’s do this!”, leaving no doubt that the lucky bride will be loved.
We've heard nothing from Adam since this last post so we're assuming that the happy couple is of course too busy enjoying their honeymoon in South Africa!
3. Golden couple with hearts of gold
While any images of the romantic, laid-back affair are still being kept under lock and key, we managed to find out that the blushing bride showed off her fashion model status in a stunning Marchesa custom-designed lace gown with spaghetti straps and silk tulle from knee to floor. Together with her husband, who looked incredibly dapper in a fitted tuxedo, the duo made a devastatingly gorgeous couple. The two, however, are not just beautiful on the outside, as instead of wedding gifts, the duo encouraged their close friends and loved ones in attendance, including Robert Downey Jr and fellow Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel, to make donations to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
4. There’s some serenading… but not from who you might expect
With the groom being an international rockstar, you’d definitely expect some ballads from the happy couple when they tie the knot. However, in an interesting turn of events, it wasn’t Adam’s crooning the wedding guests got to enjoy — not entirely anyway — as Behati dazzled her the crowd with a lovely rendition of “Bright Eyes” (we’re still not clear if that refers to the song or the band though). Apparently, when the two first met, Behati had professed to her would-be husband that she would definitely sing the song at her wedding if she ever got married.
