Have you ever wondered what creams celebrities use to fight their sagging skin? Sure, a needle here and there may be the reason for the lack of wrinkles (Nicole Kidman, we’re talking about you). But surely, behind all that invasive treatment – what anti-ageing goodness are they slathering on?
I have done you a favour by discovering which brands Angelina Jolie, Naomi Watts, and Jean Danker rely on for their anti-ageing poweress.

If you know your gossip, you know that many, many celebrities rely on Colbert MD to keep themselves looking ageless. The New York brand developed by dermatologist Dr David Colbert has legions of fans the world over. Initially created as an “after care” solution for his famous facials, Colbert MD is now a cult favourite amongst the Oscar-famous.
Counting Angelina Jolie and Naomi Watts as users, Colbert MD is said to incorporate advanced scientific technology into its skin care. But surely, using advanced technology for creams isn’t new. The difference then lies in how Colbert MD sets itself apart by “replicating” in-clinic procedures such as laser toning (a treatment that “erases” hyperpigmentation and wrinkles) and microdermabrasion.
The star product of the range, Stimulate The Serum, uses Tremella Mushroom and Tibetan Goji Berry, that supposedly stimulates collagen growth at the cellular level. The brand says that long-term usage will renew your skin – giving you the Hollywood red carpet glow. What I am really excited about, however, is how this product claims to replicate a laser toning treatment with long term use.
For those unaware, laser toning is an in-clinic treatment that is painless and has no down time. Over time, your collagen production supposedly increases, while fine lines and hyperpigmentation become erased. So if the brand can encapsulate this awesome effect in a nifty serum, I can see why Hollywood celebrities have been sold on it.
GO ASIAN
On a recent trip to Korea, I realised how wrinkle-free everyone was. I didn’t think they all had botox because their foreheads still moved and their laugh lines didn’t look too stiff. I eventually figured out that it all boiled down to a damn good anti-ageing regime.
I’m a huge fan of Korean skincare as I personally believe it works for Asian skin; after all, the products were made to suit our skin type and climates. Which may be why local deejay Jean Danker slathers on belif’s products on a daily basis.
To combat her ageing process, Jean Danker uses belif’s Peat miracle revital serum concentrate – an anti-ageing serum that apparently battles all the signs of ageing into one bottle. Jean swears by its efficacy and results, “After just one week, my skin is brighter! It also provides a good base for the other skincare products to be absorbed after.”
The serum uses peat extract, a herbal formulation that is said to prevent your skin from ageing while making fine lines and pores ease away. What I love about it is how the serum is more viscous than your average water-based serum, giving me the feeling that the formula is sealed into my skin. The herbal scent and five free formula also works well for my sensitive skin.
(I may not need to be red carpet ready, but seriously, a girl needs to take selfies too).
Now that you know what creams lie on Jolie and Danker’s dressing tables, discover the budget beauty buys that even Kate Middleton can’t resist.
