Princess Leia’s side buns may never be in vogue – at least I hope not – but as far as Autumn Winter 2014 is concerned, Star Wars is one of the top trends both on and off the runway.
No one, including Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, could have fathomed just how breathtaking the cult movie series would have looked on the Rodarte runway. In fact, the finale dresses with Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 prints were amazing and took away the would-be surprise of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi’s Darth Vader emblazoned looks a few days later.
Your man may not know a thing about Manolos but he will definitely be impressed when he spots you in the Vans x Star Wars collection
Even if you are not a Star Wars fan, I’ve found a perfectly fun piece that you won’t be able to resist. Meet the Vans x Star Wars collection – the collaboration that marries both the Star Wars and sneaker trends.
Even the box is a collector's item
This happy union features the more popular characters in both familiar and brand new looks. The iconic 1977 poster artwork from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope– the first movie in the series – appears on Classic Slip-on Vans, a true vintage pairing. You will also see Yoda takes a ride on the groovy side and peeks through the Hawaiian pattern – a Vans signature – and a cool Stormstrooper bandana print.
Perhaps your man will be suitably pleased to deck out in Vans x Star Wars from top to toe
Don’t be surprised if the men in your life try to nick these sneakers when you aren’t looking – in this case, it’s not a blessing to share the same feet size as your guy. Why not distract him with t-shirts, caps and backpacks from the collaboration?
The Vans X Star Wars collection is available at all Vans stores. For more information and a listing of store locations, go to www.vans.com. Follow the brand on Facebook at www.facebook.com/VANS?ref=vanscom and on Twitter @vans_66
