One of the highlights of the Burberry Prorsum Autumn Winter 2014 had to be the finale walk with all the models draped in ponchos bearing their initials. It was such a glorious sight that for a moment, I forgot that Bradley Cooper (eep!) was sitting next to Anna Wintour in the front row showing support for his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse.

Who didn’t end up longing for a personalised Burberry poncho after everyone who walked in the show including Cara Delevingne got to take home their own after? Well, the luxury label’s CEO Christopher Bailey must have got tired of teasing the fashion world especially after Delevingine, Waterhouse, Olivia Palermo and more “it” girls have been spotted out and about sporting their initials proudly on Burberry heritage ponchos because the fashion house has just launched a monogramming service.
Yes, now you can be like Delevingne and strut around with your own monogrammed heritage poncho. You can find this service in stores and on Burberry.com from September 2014. The British label has been constructing ponchos since the late 1880s and this season, Bailey has updated the style with an inspired traditional equestrian blanket-stitched edging. With the poncho so easy to slip on, it might just be the piece du jour instead of the trench coat.

If you are thinking, the weather’s too hot in Singapore to run around in a poncho, even if it does have your initials, the brand’s signature heritage scarf can also be personalised with this service.
Even though it’s still some way to December, I’m putting the monogrammed poncho on my Christmas wishlist. Thank you Santa!
The monogramming service is available in Burberry stores and on sg.burberry.com. Follow the brand on Facebook at www.facebook.com/burberry and on Twitter at @Burberry.
