I could never understand why some people lived on Sentosa? Isn’t it a hassle to travel over the sea to mainland Singapore for work and play?
But then it hit me, Sentosa’s the place to be if you are looking to have fun. There’s always something exciting happening in the weekends on the island and honestly, there’s no place better to be when Friday rolls in. Those smart Sentosa dwellers have got it right after all.
I’ve rounded up the top three events that you wouldn’t want to miss.
FASHION BEACH FESTIVAL
Live it up with all the beautiful people at Tanjong Beach Club as you help set the Singapore record for most bottles of bubbly drunk in a day – what a great goal! I can’t think of better fashion shows to watch than models strutting on the sand in the latest looks from lingerie brand Valisere and Hom. Besides hot underwear make models, the world’s first trilliant cut diamond collection worth a cool two million will be on display. In fact, $28,000 worth of diamonds will go home with VIP package partygoers.
When: Saturday, August 30, 2014, from 11am till late
Where: Tanjong Beach Club, Sentosa
Tickets start from $38. For information, go to www.fashionbeachfestival.com.
HEATWAVE
There’s nothing more fun than a full-fledged pool party, complete with great music and champagne. That’s what Heatwave at the W Singapore is all about. So slip into your best bikini and dance up a storm with your BFFs at the WET pool along to tunes by the resort’s Artistic Director Mr.Has (yes, partying is serious business at the hotel) and DJs hailing from Sydney – Seng Wei, Victoria and Jashika.
When: Sunday, September 7, 2014, from 2pm to 8pm
Where: W Singapore - Sentosa Cove, WET
Tickets are $35 (includes one drink and pool access) are available at Sentosa Online Store. For table reservations, please contact W Store at +65 6808 7285 or wstore.singapore@whotels.com.
PUMA NIGHT RUN
Be part of a night of firsts. The very first Puma race in Singapore also happens to be the first night race on Sentosa. Take on the 10km route that brings you across the island in the cool night air. Plus, the race village will be set up at Wave House Sentosa where you can chill out after the race to performances by The Sam Willows and 53a or if your body is still up for it, groove to an electrifying DJ set.
When: Saturday, November 1, 2014
Where: Sentosa
The registration fee is $59 and you can register at go.puma.com/nightrunsg
