It was just a matter of time before Diane von Furstenberg expanded her eponymous brand into jewellery. After all, the designer is a woman’s woman and has built her fashion empire around glamour and sensuality. Women everywhere can’t get enough of her signature wrap dresses that envelop a woman’s curves to best impact and can be easily dressed up for a big event.
Statement bling is at the pinnacle of glam and also the centre of the brand’s new costume jewellery line. The collaboration with American jeweller Haskell Jewels is inspired by both the brand’s Spring Summer 2015 collection and also bold and eclectic jewellery that the designer personally collected.
Premiere Chainette Necklace
Of course hearts, coins, lips and the Sutra link feature prominently in the collection – very DVF. We especially love how luxe the pieces from the Knitted Chain line mimicks the way the label’s famous silk jersey appears and feels on the body. The flowing necklaces and bracelets follow the draping and soft fluidity of jersey, you would never think they were hand made from diamond cut brass chain and plated in gold.
Honey Bracelet in Beet
On the other end of the spectrum are structured pieces like sleek cuffs and bangles in embossed leather prints. There’s also an element of surprise incorporated – you will find a sweet quote by the designer herself inscribed on some pieces, we’ll let you find out what it is for yourself.
And the price is another good surprise! The line is priced from US$68 to US$628, so there’s something for every DVF fan out there. We aren’t sure how we will last until February 2015 to get our hands on the bling – that’s when the collection will hit stores.
