Miley Cyrus wants to be known for more than "shaking her ass".
The 21-year-old popstar shocked fans who had previously known her as Disney's Hannah Montana when she cut off her long blonde hair in 2012. Since then she's become synonymous with the twerking dance move and wearing tiny costumes on stage.
Thanks to her drastic image overhaul, she's the cover star of V Magazine's Rebel Issue. On the front of the publication she wears a furry blue cut-out swimsuit.
While she loves to make a fashion statement, Miley doesn't want to be solely remembered as the girl who shows off her derriere in skimpy clothing.
“I know that I’m not a pop pop dumb dumb,” she told the magazine. “I know that I’m not. I’m a lot more than someone who just goes and shakes her ass onstage.
“I think it’s kind of funny to mess with people and rile them up because I’m actually the most chill person and it’s just funny to watch the world get out of their minds over things that are so irrelevant and don’t matter.”
Inside the issue, Miley can be seen bra-less with a long fur coat partially covering her breasts. To finish the look off she wears thigh-high laced boots and tiny white hotpants.
Another image shows the singer dressed just in a long, pink roll-neck sweater. She holds a clutch bag in the shape of a mouth between her legs, complete with a flap of red fabric that looks like a tongue.
The shoot is a collaboration between Miley, designer Karl Lagerfeld and stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.
