For some reason I can browse the aisles at Watsons or Guardian and feel happy just being there. At times, I’m just looking out for my regular beauty buys and seeing if there’s a special promotion. While doing so, I often spot something out of the ordinary - a shiny new product I haven’t seen before - then I get all excited.
Why? Drugstore buys are friendly on the pocket and very accessible, which is why I can’t get enough of them. Here are a few of my favourite drugstore buys that I’ve spotted in the past few weeks.
ZA Perfect Solution Whitening Serum
Following the success of its whitening range, ZA has launched the Perfect Solution Whitening Serum. The serum taps on ZA’s new cutting edge ingredient, Retino White: A combination of Shiseido’s signature whitening ingredient (4MSK) and a retinol derivative. The serum promises to lighten surface spots as well as hidden melanin and wrinkles.
Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo Shaper
Always wanted the sharpness of a pencil with the softness of a powder for your brows? Maybelline’s latest Fashion Brow fuses the two into one nifty product. The extremely easy to use pencil helps to give you defined brows, while the powder works fabulously for softening the entire look. Simply shade lightly and powder away to perfect brows.
TruLife Supplements
A fusion of TCM and modern technology, TruLife is the brainchild of Mr Dylan Hu, who comes from a family of TCM practitioners. Mr Hu realised that traditional chinese medicine has numerous benefits, but the tedious process of brewing TCM concoctions turn many people away. He then invented TruLife, which created health supplements drawn from TCM knowledge, backed by western science. Packed in easy to drink bottles for different concerns such as weight loss and overall health, the company says that these supplements give you results in under 10 days.
Venus & Olay Razor in SugarberryShaving is one of the easiest and painless way to get rid of unwanted hair, but the long-term effects of it can be rather unsightly: Dark underarms, dry and bumpy skin; just to name a few. The best way around it is to scrub before a shave, but seriously, you can’t scrub all the time. Which is why Gillette, the King & Queen of shavers, invented the Venus & Olay Razor in Sugarberry. The five-blade razor is equipped with a moisturising and exfoliating head, so you get a clean and smooth shave in every swipe!
DHC Health & Beauty SupplementsThe Japanese brand believes that certain beauty-related issues are stemmed from nutritional deficiencies, which inspired a full range of new products to its supplement line. So if you find that your deodorant doesn’t seem to work anymore, you might want to try DHC’s Bulgarian Rose supplement. Aimed at alleviating bad breath and body odours, DHC says that this supplement will help your body rid itself of nasty scents. Other new supplements include Placenta, which is as a nutritional support for individuals constantly plagued by skin concerns or menopausal issues.
