Since the event's launch in 2006, the Singapore Committee for UN Women says it has raised over $280,000 to support women and young girls in Singapore who are exposed to violence, abuse and exploitation.
The pre-loved wares are donated through a Club21 Cares initiative called Style It Forward, and will be on sale over three days from November 7 to 9, 2014, at Forum The Shopping Mall.
Proceeds from the sale will go to the Singapore Committee for UN Women's "Help Anna" campaign and support the immediate needs of women in the Karenni refugee camps along the Thailand-Myanmar border.
"Research shows that on average one in three women will experience a form of violence in their lifetime," said Trina Liang-Lin, president of the Singapore Committee for UN Women. "Through 'Help Anna', Singapore Committee for UN Women promotes awareness and public education about violence against women, which is a vital aspect in being able to support women locally and around the region.”
MasterCard will also donate $5 for every MasterCard transaction at the sale, through their MasterCard Purchase with Purpose initiative.
