Meow! Hello Kitty makeup is here

This is the year of the kitty, Hello Kitty that is. The famous Japanese cat celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2014 and the brand has been marking this milestone with limited edition everything– makeup now included.

For November 2014, the brand has tied up with Sephora to launch a limited edition Hello Kitty makeup collection. And, I am pleased to report that the makeup does actually work as well as it looks.

The entire collection comes mostly in sets (one for the eyes, lips, and nails!), all individually packaged and printed with Hello Kitty all over. Despite the overwhelming Kitty decal, you will be pleased to know that the makeup is worth its higher-end price tag.

The Pop-Up Party Eyeshadow Palette, for example, features twenty shades that are extremely buttery and pigmented. Named after some of Hello Kitty’s favourite things, the shades come in a variety of glitter and matte options that are very wearable for Asian skin tones.

Similarly, An Apple A Day Lip Gloss Trio showcases lip glosses housed in irresistible apple containers. Infused with extracts of lemon, strawberry, and vanilla, the brand says each lip gloss is highly pigmented and very moisturising. What I love though, is how the apple containers also feature a mini-mirror that is perfect for touching up on the go.

I know what I’ll be spending my money on next week!
