LONDON: Miranda Lindsay-Fynn, the CEO of Singapore’s top luxe accessories e-tailer Doorstepluxury.com, visits the annual fashion weeks every year to spot emerging trends and new labels.

This year she’s giving herworldPLUS readers and exclusive insight into what will be available for Autumn Winter 2012 as well as spotting some of the top street style trends seen at the fashion weeks in London and Milan.

Here’s what she told us ...

Miranda Lindsay-Fynn: Landing in London from Singapore is a jolt to the fashion senses. The sky is blue and the temperature is 10 degrees Celcius.

Living on a literature diet of international magazines it is always interesting to see which of the reported trends are visible on the street during fashion week. These are the trends most loved by the fashion glitterati and are usually here to stay beyond one season.

This springtime in London, the style is winter with a touch of Spring Summer, most typically a large fluffy faux fur coat accessorised with plastic fantastic pop art style sunglasses that everyone is wearing here to celebrate the fresh winter sunshine.

What are the top trends for bags?
MLF: Bags are looking practical with the comeback boy of the season being the backpack, the ultimate hands-free stylish accessory.

The alternative to the backpack is the sling bag, a trend that is getting stronger through the seasons. From the traditional small satchel style sling bag to larger multifunctional totes that come with a cross body strap.

Who is the latest designer to watch?
MLF: Young British designer of the moment is Sophie Hulme. Her collection includes utterly divine outerwear and the most lusted after totes of last season in London.

Noteable for their slick design and signature gold plate buckles, each collection is complimented by a quirky selection of charm necklaces and belt buckles. This season features dinosaurs, tyrannical T-Rexs that have jumped out of the jewellery box and onto the catwalk and cashmere jumpers nipped in at the waist with skinny belts clasped with gold mammoths.

What should we particularly watch out for?
MLF: Sophie Hulme’s Autumn Winter 2012 collection is a sign that the designer continues to go from strength to strength. With more depth to her collection and rich autumn colours for the different styles.

Grab her new soft leather totes that are ideal as a slouchy cross-body bag thanks to an added strap and don’t miss her utterly divine envelope clutches in claret red and emerald green.
