These look like pastel paint, but if applied properly, you might just be able to skip the foundation. Find out which one suits you.

Straight from the tube, Make Up For Ever's new Skin Equalizers ($68 each, available at Sephora stores and the Make Up For Ever Pro Loft from Jan 8, 2015) look just like pastel paint. But blend these primers on different parts of the face to correct the colour or texture and you get a flawless-looking complexion.

These formulas will replace the brand's existing High Definition primers, High Definition Elixir and All Mat Matifying Primer.

Six of the primers correct the skin tone: green to tone down redness on the cheeks and around the nose; blue to reduce dull yellow tones; yellow to give medium to tanned skin a glow; peach for sunkissed-looking skin; caramel to sculpt fair skin or warm up dark skin; and pink to add rosiness to fair skin.

There are also four colourless texture-correcting primers: mattifying for oily skin on the T-zone; smoothing to blur out pores and wrinkles; hydrating to soften skin; and nourishing to regenerate skin.

These primers are lightweight enough to be layered. The colour-correcting primers can be applied on top of the texture-correcting ones.

When these primers are applied correctly, you can skip the foundation and concealer.
