Website maps 2,200 restaurants seen on popular food TV showsIt’s a website that helps food TV junkies map and find where Giada De Laurentiis goes to get her favorite hot chocolate spiked with chili powder, and where to find Bobby Flay’s favorite breakfast item, a peanut butter and banana stuffed French toast.

TVFoodMaps.com has curated 2,2,00 restaurants seen on 20 popular food and travel shows to become the largest repository of its kind on the web. Listings include eateries featured on shows like Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, Man v. Food and the Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate.

The most recent addition to their TV shows includes Restaurant Impossible, hosted by Robert Irvine.

While food shows make a sport out of taunting viewers with money shots of diners tucking into plates of sticky, tender baby back ribs, sinfully creamy macaroni and cheese or sweet potato cheesecake, TVFoodMaps.com helps viewers who have been lulled into food porn hypnosis to look up the eateries at the end of the shows.

Listings are divided by show, episode, chef and state, giving users different search options.

To eat at a dim sum house that  Bourdain calls the best in Brooklyn, for instance, users are led to the East Harbor Seafood Palace, which was featured in a 2009 episode entitled "NY Outer Boroughs."

The site also has Try and Been lists, allowing users to keep track of places they wish to try or have already hit; mobile alerts that email or text message users when they’re near a featured restaurant; and a road trip search that can help make restaurant suggestions en route.

The Food Network also provides the names and addresses of restaurants featured on shows like The Best Thing I Ever Ate and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. -- AFP RELAXNEWS
