Popular for its brunch offerings, The Missing Pan occupies a two-storey shophouse - the first floor retails freshly-baked organic bread, while the restaurant is housed on the second level.
These are our picks of the small bites and main courses off the menu, which we very much preferred over the desserts we tried.
Get the Chorizo Fiesta ($10) to share. Slightly spicy, the sliced Spanish pork sausages come with dried chilli, crunchy gherkins and black olives. It's so fragrant that you'll wish you'd ordered another portion!
The Chargrilled Squid ($12), marinated in the chef's secret seasoning and served with greens, was sweet and well-cooked - slightly chewy, but not too tough, with a good char to it.
If clean eating is the order of the day, they also have a vegetarian option - the Mushroom Quesadilla ($18). Generously packed with wild mushrooms, capsicums, onions and oodles of mozarella cheese, this makes a hearty - and healthy - meal for one.
Comforting and satisfying, the Smoked Duck Risotto ($25) comprises diced smoked duck breast, semi-sundried tomatoes, hojimeishi mushroom and baby spinach. The risotto is cooked nicely, with some bite, and the broth is rich and tasty.
