This year marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and for the first time in history, we may get actual answers to how this “unsinkable” ship fell victim to the icy waters of the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912 instead of just basing it on our memories of Jack and Rose’ tragic love story.
Two years ago, the HISTORY channel took part in a major exclusive underwater expedition alongside top underwater experts for the most thorough and exhaustive study of the wreck ever undertaken.
This study yielded new discoveries and the first comprehensive map of the Titanic’s watery grave – the entire fifteen square-mile patch of the ocean floor.
Not only will the site be mapped out, the special will also explore significant portions of the ship which remained unseen until now, revealing the complete picture of the breakup and sinking by use of a virtual hangar.
If you’re a history buff or just intrigued by this whole ship-sinking mystery, you won’t want to miss History’s showing of Titanic: Mystery Solved.
The two-hour documentary will be the first of its kind, giving the most definitive account of how the Titanic sank, new findings based on hard evidence gathered on-site, never-before-seen pieces from the wreckage and providing more answers on how this supposedly “unsinkable” ship landed in the bottom of the ocean.
Titanic: Mystery Solved will premiere April 15, 8pm on HISTORY (Starhub Channel 401). Check out a sneak peek of the documentary in the video below.
